The ServiceNow Vancouver release brings many new features and enhancements to the platform.

Here are the top 5 new features we think you need to know about.

1. Accounts Payable Operations

Part of the Finance & Supply Chain workflows solution, the APO product brings invoice automation, invoice inquiry management, and invoice exception management to the Now platform. Using ServiceNow’s Document Intelligence, ingesting invoices using AI capabilities will significantly reduce the amount of effort involved to process an invoice.

The routing of invoice exceptions is handled by the platform workflow capability and Integration Hub can be used to send the data to your ERP – fully automating the capture, process and payment of invoices.

2. GenAI on Workspaces

The Now platform is well positioned to weave GenAI into business workflows – with Vancouver, Now Assist brings AI-driven support to the ITSM Workspace by providing a summary of the activities on an incident. A super useful GenAI use case for agents to get the context of a ticket very quickly. Customers do need to be on ITSM Pro to use Now Assist.

3. GenAI Controller

Providing a means to connect your instance to a 3^rd party generative AI service such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Google Bard, the GenAI Controller provides out-of-the-box functions to summarise data or generate content.

Using flow designer and virtual agent designer you can create your own use cases from scratch. The controller comes with sensitive data handling capabilities allowing personally identifiable information to be masked to not appear in GenAI prompts.

4. Access Analyzer

This ServiceNow Store product helps admins view permissions for a selected user, role or group and provides a picture on who has access to what. Maturing identity governance and preventing the over-provisioning of access is a key concerns for all our customers and we’re looking forward to delving deeper into this tool.

5. System Events and Jobs Dashboard

Another useful addition for admins – providing current state, health checks and alerts this dashboard drops everything into the one spot and provides a backstage pass to everything happening on your instance.
